Oracle Sr. Consultant, People & Talent Insights in Sandy, Utah

Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.

Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs or available data elements. May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues. May directly produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.

Our People & Talent Insights team provides advanced and predictive analyses of HR and talent data.

Duties/Functions:

  • Identify research questions, operationalized into variables of interest.

  • Gather, combine, and integrate data for the purpose of analysis.

  • Conduct appropriate statistical tests to answer the research question.

  • Work with OD consultants and HR business partners to identify opportunities to spread the insights/implications/actions throughout the company.

  • Present results and recommended actions to peers and executives.

Required Skills:

  • Be able to identify social science/organizational behavior/psychological principles and research methods to solve problems that improve the work environment and influence organizational change.

  • Advanced understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods

  • Adept at use of data analysis and statistical packages such as SPSS, Excel, R, Python, Stata.

  • Expertise in inferential statistical methods including multiple regression, ANOVA, correlations, factor analysis, ASLM. Strong understanding of validity, reliability, and agreed-upon professional benchmarks for statistical data interpretation.

  • Ability to generate credible and logical hypotheses and design experiments to test relevant research questions

  • Ability to translate complex statistical results into language that a non-expert can understand

  • Skill in developing stories or narrative descriptions from research that are actionable

  • Detail oriented, practical and pragmatic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA or PhD in a social science field such as industrial-organizational psychology (I/O Psychology) or organization development.

  • Applied research methods experience and data analysis in a corporate environment
