Cornerstone onDemand Senior Revenue Manager - (Sandy, UT) in Sandy, Utah

Cornerstone is seeking a Senior Manager, Revenue to join our Order to Cash team. This role will report to the Director, Order to Cash. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of a team of Revenue Accountants who work in multiple locations. You will ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements as well as provide oversight to ensure procedures and controls are applied effectively across various locations. This individual will be a well-rounded leader managing revenue operations, monthly close procedures and revenue recognition accounting. Cornerstone is in a transformative phase of our lifecycle and this is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Revenue Manager to lead various elements of this transformation, including streamlining processes to close our books faster and scaling financial systems and other workflows to support the Company’s growth.

In this role you will...

  • Lead the global monthly/quarterly revenue close procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements

  • Ensure revenue is accurately recorded in accordance with ASC 606

  • Direct a team of revenue accountants in various locations

  • Provide guidance on deal structuring

  • Manage the generation of key revenue metrics and reporting

  • Oversee improvements to streamline and scale our existing financial system and operations to support the next phase of the Company’s growth

  • Liaise with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits, including discussing technical revenue accounting issues and internal control findings

  • Analyze and synthesize trends in data and information to identify risks and requirements for additional processes and procedures

  • Maintain strong, foundational relationships with business partners (Sales, Legal, and Operations) and accounting peers to address accounting and operational needs.

  • Instill/support a culture of high-quality work, team collaboration and continuous improvement, including providing mentorship and coaching to the team of revenue accountants

  • Consideration for privacy and security obligations

You’ve got what it takes if you have…

  • A bachelor’s degree related to accounting/finance or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of related experience, including experience in either revenue recognition, revenue operations or finance operations

  • 2+ years of public accounting experience

  • 4+ years of experience leading and managing teams

  • Revenue recognition experience in a technology company, including ASC 606

  • Experience building new capabilities and process optimization

  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes

  • Excellent team building and leadership skills with a focus on continual development, performance, accountability and self-motivation

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data including presentations to senior management

  • Track record of achieving results with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to interact upward and cross functionally and manage a large team

  • Confidence in researching technical accounting literature and SEC guidance and drafting accounting memorandums

  • Ability to motivate, engage, and develop teammates to reach maximum potential

Extra Dose of Awesomeness if you have…

  • Experience with Enterprise SaaS business models

  • Experience with customer contracts with multiple performance obligations

  • Knowledge of NetSuite (ARM) and Salesforce systems

  • Interest in understanding how IT systems and workflows are designed
