The Risk Management Lead identifies and analyzes potential sources of loss to minimize risk. The Risk Management Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.


Job Description

The leader of the Enterprise Business Continuity Program works with all parts of the Enterprise to influence and mentor business continuity best practices, ensuring alignment with general regulatory requirements. The BC Program Lead will manage a team whom oversees the BC lifecycle across the Enterprise including BC plan annual maintenance, testing and BIA coordination, by building collaborative relationships with business stakeholders, bridging contingency gaps and understanding potential risks.

Additional Job Description

As a subject matter expert, this role is responsible for establishing policies/standards and helping to ensure that the business continuity planning lifecycle throughout the organization is effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting risk and noncompliance with applicable rules and regulations.

This leadership role drives the implementation of Humana’s Business Resilience Program and provides assistance, expertise, and a common framework to the organization to follow for assessing business impacts, developing business continuity plans and recovery strategies.

This position involves partnership with many internal teams, as well as ongoing collaboration with Human’s Crisis Management, IT Disaster Recovery, Corporate Security, Legal and Compliance teams, to facilitate quality and innovative risk management solutions that are calibrated across departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years of hands on Business Continuity and/or IT Disaster Recovery experience with ability to articulate business continuity concepts and methodology

  • 2 or more years of management experience

  • Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), Business Continuity Institute (BCI), or other business continuity professional certification

  • Experience facilitating tabletop or practical exercises

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that take complex ideas and simplify them for the audience

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a cross-functional team

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and changing environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently, effectively manage competing demands and priorities

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving stakeholder experiences

  • Familiarity with Governance, Risk and Compliance as it applies to BCDR planning

  • Experience with Business Resumption Planning, Disaster Recovery Planning, conducting BIAs, etc.

  • Experience implementing processes technologies with enterprise-wide impact

  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and drive tactical execution

  • Experience with data analytics and dashboarding and BCM tools a plus (e.g. Power BI, Archer, etc.)

  • Data driven to architect and analytically develop robust management monitoring dashboards to report on key risk metrics.

  • Available 24x7 for emergency on-call support as needed
