Zions PublicFinance Inc. has just opened an opportunity for a Municipal ConsultingAnalyst on our Public Finance team based in the Salt Lake City area,covering the state of Utah and parts of the intermountain west.

Idealcandidates will have the skills and experience necessary to :

  • Process and manage municipal consulting projects anddeadlines from start to finish for current and new client relationships.

  • Prepare internal and external financial models and analysisusing Excel and Geographic InformationSystem (GIS) mapping software.

  • Collect data and present findings in both written and oralformat with the use of presentation programs such as PowerPoint and InDesign.

  • Design presentation materials, reports, and persuasiveproposals in a professional and easy-to-follow manner.

  • Interact with lead consultant, project partners, and clientsduring consulting projects, meetings (in person or virtually) to documentproject needs and objectives that would later be translated into data charts, graphs,tables, presentations and written reports.

  • Monitor and track progress billings for projects includinginvoicing clients.

  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction by generating,managing and servicing a portfolio of clients and disparate projects.

  • Travel overnight as needed.

  • Occasionally lead and train analytical staff.

  • May be asked to perform other duties and special projects.

Qualifications

What you need to bring to the table :

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience with municipalconsulting, local government administration, finance,accounting, marketing,public relations or related field. Applicants should understand localgovernment operations and issues and be familiar with the political structureand procedures surrounding local governments.Acombination of education and experience may meet job requirements.

  • Ability to identify, manage and solve project problems fromstart to completion.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and inter-personalskills.

  • Strong analytical,quantitative, verbal, written, and negotiating skills.

  • Analytical abilityrequired to gather, summarize, and interpret data for reports with a penchantfor design and layout that makes data accessible to an audience.

  • Ability to clearly andsuccinctly expresscomplex financial concepts bothverbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work in a heavily deadline-oriented environment.

  • Superior expertise in managing multiple project-orientedtasks and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while being team-oriented.

  • Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills.

  • Ability to perceive beyond the obvious when developingsolutions and adapt to unique circumstances rather than applying cookie-cutterremedies.

  • Must possess a high level of motivation, initiative andleadership skills.

  • Proven strategic thinking, communication, time management,and presentation skills.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPointand Word.

  • Ability to quickly learn other finance-related softwareproducts as needed.
