Director, Solution Services

As the Director of Solution Services you willlead and inspire a team of Solution Implementers by way of leadership infrastructure of Managers and Sr Managers. Solution Services is the high-velocity delivery arm of Professional Services using pre-packaged offerings in a fixed fee structure.You willmanage all operational and financial aspects of the Solution Services department. In addition to managing full business operations,you will haveresponsibility for business development, process review / improvement / creation, work qualities, andbe intentional in developing and leadingfuture leaders of the organization.

You willbe responsible to the business through meeting financial / operational plans, hiring to plan, and development of resources.You willalso translate the Professional Services vision into a strategy for growth. In addition to managing the business,you willdevelop and refine packaged offerings, reduce friction in the sales process allowing for full-self service sales, and develop operational practices that allow for accelerated time to value whilst capitalizing on economies of scale.

You will report to theSr. Director of Professional Services and be located at one of Smartsheet's corporate offices or in the field.

You Will:

  • Hire, develop, and directly manage qualified Sr Managers and Managers

  • Manage departmental budget and authorize expenditures

  • Coordinate development of standardize documentation and resources for reporting performance and recommendations

  • Work with Sales leadership for ongoing programs

  • Provide collaboration and support on all strategic business planning in preparation for expansion, consolidation, new service offerings, and other business owner decisions that are presented

  • Review and monitor all quarterly reporting on practice financial and statistical performance, opportunity analysis and budget vs. actuals performance

  • Research industry trends and keep the team current on industry changes

  • Provide services throughout customer lifecycle to ensure maximum customer value and overall economic impact (software+services)

  • Help make connections with potential external partners

  • Leverage contingent labor resources within the resource mix to service engagements

  • Work together with the Operations group to implement best practices

  • Travel occasionally to meet with customers

You Have:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university

  • Prior P&L experience

  • Excellent client management skills and the ability to work with customers in both pre- and post-sales environment

  • Strong leadership, business development, organizational, team management,communication(verbal, written, andpresentation),and interpersonal skills

  • 10+ years workingin a software services,and/orProfessional Services, leadership capacity

  • Demonstrated successin solutioning, selling, and delivering solutions

  • Demonstratedproficiency inleading and managinghigh-velocity mixed-model environments

  • Proven successpartnering across departments

  • Excellent customer engagement, solution visioning,and problem solving skills
