The People Operations & Culture Director is responsible for providing leadership in developing and executing strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in alignment with the University of Utah’s goals and mission. Act as a strategic business partner within the department and service line with a focus on employee relations, performance management, engagement, talent planning & selection, compensation, benefits & absence management, and faculty & resident supervision. Act as a catalyst between departments, faculty, and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service.
oPrevents and resolves problems/disputes with staff and faculty in alignment with Department and University policy and procedure
oOversees, advises and monitors the corrective action process in partnership with Department leadership
oLeads and manages the performance management and review process for staff and faculty
oPartners with leadership and make recommendation for organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning and employee/faculty retention
•Engagement & Culture
oDevelops long term strategies and key initiatives to promote and achieve an inclusive, supportive and transparent culture within the Department
•Talent Planning & Selection
oPartners with leadership to identify hiring needs, determine selection criteria, source, interview and onboard candidates
oCalculates and recommends compensation for new hires and reclassifications
oCompletes equity review for staff and faculty ensuring internal compensation practices are consistent and equitable
•Benefits & Absence Management
oIn coordination with the University’s Benefits and Absence Management department, provides information to staff in regards to insurance plans, open enrollment, retirement, paid time off and leave ( FMLA , LTD , STD , etc)
•Faculty & Resident Supervision
oOversee all faculty reviews and renewal processes including FRA , RPT and CPT
oAdminister Faculty ETIS (Expectation, Transparency, Inclusive, Sustainable) supervision in partnership with Division Chiefs, Associate Director of Education and Administrative
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area, or equivalency; eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communications skills required.
Master’s degree in Business Administration, or related area preferred.
