Vivint Director, Field Ops Strategy & Analytics in Provo, Utah

The Field Operations Strategy & Analytics team provides strategic direction and analytical support for the entire Field Operations organization. This role will interact with leaders across business functions to identify, structure, analyze, track, and deliver strategic projects touching multiple functions.

The Strategy and Analytics Director will be in charge leading, training, and inspiring the strategy and analytics team. This includes determining priorities in partnership with other Field Ops and Vivint business leaders, providing clear and concise guidance to team members, communicating results, challenges, and recommendations to the broader organization based on the S&A team’s work, and pushing the team’s thinking on how best to act on those recommendations. They are expected to be an active thought partner and drive discussions with leaders within and across the organization. Intent is for this role to have significant interaction with Scott Hardy, Vivint’s COO, and will report to Brady Southwick, Vivint’s SVP of Field Operations.


  • Develop team of analysts, senior analysts, and managers in critical analytical and strategic thinking skills and techniques

  • Oversee development, deployment, and accuracy of Field Operations reporting

  • Define, research, synthesize, prioritize, and align team to largest opportunities to change Field Operations addressable through analytical and/or consultative approach

  • Prepare relevant context to inform team and run semi-annual strategic review and alignment process

  • Partner within and outside Field Operations to answer Vivint level questions on key business drivers

  • Communicate clearly the findings and recommendations of the S&A team to the broader organization

  • Develop and maintain an external perspective on competitive offerings and behavior

  • Assist SVP-Field Operations with creating and refining senior executive presentations

  • Lead organizing and building agendas, and ensuring content created by team, for COO offsites and offsites involving interaction between field and back office

  • Act as a thought partner and subject matter expert on a defined problem-solving process to drive large initiatives

  • Upon request, own design and execution of proof-of-concept for strategic Field Operations initiatives

  • Manage cross-functional projects through informal power and influence techniques

  • Use a combination of first-principles problem solving, expert interviews, and independent research to develop solutions addressing the largest strategic and operational opportunities

  • Create relevant communication mechanisms (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, excel models, templates) needed to drive organizational understanding, decisions, and action for strategic projects


  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate difficult and nuanced problems and solutions

  • Desire to learn and improve self, team, and solution

  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

  • Preferable to have some basic accounting/financial analysis experience

  • Preferable to have some statistics knowledge


  • A bachelor’s degree in quantitative subject (advanced degrees welcome)

  • Working and practical knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including data management, employee relations, performance management and employment laws


  • Reports to Senior Vice President, Field Operations


  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
