The Associate Program Manager will assist with and or take on the management of key projects through all program management activities. Ensure that deliverables are met and that project and corporate objectives are achieved.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Sr. Program Managers and manage projects both internal and external through the project life cycle. (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closure)
Issue and risk identification and mitigation. Keep a current issue and risk log for each project to track identified issues or risks and mitigation plans.
Identify and manage dependencies between projects and organizations (product, development, sales, marketing, quality assurance).
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Maintain status reports showing project progress based on current data, risks, dependencies, and concerns.
Facilitate regular meetings as justified by the project(s)/program(s) to keep alignment across the organization and ensure the organizations objectives are being met.
Work with external clients as needed to support on-boarding and integration efforts.
Be a champion for individual and organizational change and adoption of Program Management and Agile practices.
Promote quality through proper planning, execution, and analysis.
Participate in agile ceremonies and promote continuous improvement.
Use and continually develop sound leadership skills.
Help triage customer issues and bugs, properly prioritizing unexpected work to be done against that which was planned.
Look for ways to optimize existing or establish new processes to ensure effective development cycles, being able to adjust and adapt as necessary.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science and/or related field or equivalent work experience.
Job Related Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of project management or related experience.
PMI or Scrum Alliance certifications nice to have.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well with others, helping representatives from multiple organizations collaborate effectively together
Competent with standard project management processes and practices, with the ability to adapt and optimize appropriately
Competent with project management and communication tools
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently, without close supervision
