Intermountain Healthcare IS Architecture Manager in Murray, Utah

Job Description:

Responsible for the strategic operations of a group of IS Departments and/or functions. Ensures that the management team(s) responsible for these departments identify and adopt best practice standards and that those standards are in line with the global IS and business strategies.


Reports to either a Regional Director or Assistant Vice President. Must have two or more managers / supervisors reporting to them and must have one or more budgets within their control.

Job Essentials

  1. Provides strategic leadership and direction for the departments/functions responsible for. Continuously challenges the status quo by evaluating the current processes and practices against industry standards, both inside and outside of healthcare.

  2. Provides strategic budget oversight for departments/functions responsible for and holds management team accountable for operating within the set operating and capital budget.

  3. Mentors and coaches managers and ensures that there is an adequate management succession plan in place.

  4. Manages business and stakeholder relationships within areas of responsibility. Focuses on solutions / strategies that create win-win situations both inside and outside of the IS organization.

  5. Delivers expected results for area of responsibility. Communicates regularly with staff and manages projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and according to requirements, including goal setting and implementation and problem / issue resolution.

  6. Maintains technical and business knowledge for areas of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Eight years professional/technical experience in area of responsibility.

Five years management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree

Healthcare IT/IS experience

Physical Requirements:

IT & SH only

Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.

Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

See and read computer monitors and documents.

  • and -

Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
