Global Payments, Inc. Credit Review Analyst (II or Sr.) in Lindon, Utah


Responsible for the investigation and analysis of credit information, working within established guidelines. Resolves moderately complex credit problems but may request assistance on highly sensitive accounts. Assists in the collection of past due accounts. Makes some decisions regarding credit extension.

Job Details:


  • Applies in-depth credit knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and corporate operations practices.

  • Uses advanced knowledge and judgment to complete more complex credit review decisions.

  • Performs advanced analysis of credit reports, business and personal financials, company financial statements, tax returns and other similar documentation.

  • Serves on special project resource teams.

  • Mentors entry-level Credit Review Analysts.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in all credit review process and policies and communicates that knowledge verbally and in writing to staff.

  • Independently reviews accounts as determined by review guidelines within approval authority, consistent with credit policies and guidelines.

  • Verifies that change request information provided and supporting documentation are correct and consistent with required standards.

  • When risk exceeds the Credit Review Analyst II approval authority, provides a write-up and recommendation to management.

  • Calls Merchants (commercial clients) regarding accounts as needed to verify information.

  • Communicates decisions effectively in verbal and written form.

  • Properly files paperwork.

  • Consults with management. on procedural and policy changes, concerns or clarifications.

  • Assists management with training and development of personnel.

  • Reviews files from staff for accuracy.

  • Assists in audits and periodic credit reviews for management.

  • Seeks alternative means of financing or counter offers for all Merchant/clients when it is determined that the original request cannot be accommodated.

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations to Manager and Director, when there is a Corporate review on accounts beyond individual approval authority.

  • Responsible for preparing large complex accounts for Corporate Credit review.

  • Reviews all accounts consistently and thoroughly understands the company credit review and underwriting policies.

  • Thoroughly understands and learns the risks associated with the payment processing industry (Fraud, Credit, Regulatory, Legal, etc.)

  • Prepares spreadsheets and detailed written reports to be presented to management.

  • Monitors chargebacks, mitigate losses, manage tight deadlines

  • Takes initiative to identify opportunities for process improvements

  • Seeks alternative means of financing or counter offers for all Merchant/clients when it is determined that the original request cannot be accommodated.


  • 2-4 years of credit, risk, or related analysis experience. Or a Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or Business and equivalent related analysis experience.

  • Good interpersonal and team work skills - must have ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and able to maintain cordial and effective relationship with coworkers and other business contacts.

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows applications including Outlook, Excel and Word.

  • Demonstrated competency reading credit reports.

  • Strong understanding of and ability to read financial statements, tax returns and other similar documentation.

  • The ability to understand restricted industry requirements and nuances and make sound decisions on these type of deals.

  • Demonstrate ability to proactively identify and solve problems.

  • Able to work in team driven environment

  • Able to work independently to complete daily tasks.

  • Strong knowledge of credit policies, procedures, principles and philosophy.
