The Role:

Vivint's Innovation Center is looking for a Director, Product Management to lead product planning and execution within our Smart Home Ecosystem team. As a member of the Innovation leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing product team. You'll drive strong collaboration with functional, vertical, and departmental leadership, company-wide, in pursuit of strategic objectives.

What you will do:

  • Build strong relationships within the Innovation Center, across Vivint broadly, and with external partners, understanding and incorporating stakeholder motivations, contraints, and risks

  • Influence decisions at all levels with well-reasoned and articulated data-driven proposals to drive successful product strategies

  • Represent the Smart Home Ecosystem portfolio of products and services in all settings, including executive-level review

  • Establish expertise in the Vivint portfolio and develop a deep knowledge of the markets in which Vivint competes, as well as adjacent markets

  • Bring to bear your deep understanding of consumer needs and trends on product decision making

  • Manage the product roadmap, making investment decisions that balance customer and business outcomes

  • Drive product strategy for The Smart Home Ecosystem team, coordinate buy-in, and contribute to the overall Vivint product vision and strategy

  • Build business cases with cross-functional collaboration, ensuring market fit and sales success across the portfolio.

  • Coach your team of Product Managers in the craft of product management, driving sound practices including data-driven testing techniques, product performance assessment, customer needs assessment, de-risking, product launch coordination, etc.

  • Create a culture of trust, transparency, and autonomy

Who you will work with:

In the role of “Product Lead”, you will partner with the “Vertical Lead” of the Smart Home Ecosystem vertical. The S.H.E. vertical is a semi-autonomous business unit charged with the development and delivery of products and services covering a broad slice of the total Vivint portfolio and product strategy. Current product categories include lighting solutions, access solutions (garage/door lock, etc.), comfort solutions (thermostats and related experiences), experiences associated with moving things (vehicles, pets, people), voice integration, advanced automation capabilities, and partner integration strategies. The SHE team is aligned in priorities and goals, and strong collaboration and employee satisfaction are hallmarks of our efforts. We succeed and fail together. What we’re looking for:

  • Drive, resiliency, and grit

  • Strategic thinking, effective leadership, and executive presence

  • Strong influence, organizational savvy, and business acumen

  • 10+ years experience in Product Management or related field, including:

  • 5+ years in Product Management leadership, or related field

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
